Tabby pattern/ agouti
|
An
agouti hair shows various number of yellowish bands (silver-white bands in
silver varieties) separated from each other by the corresponding colour (ticking).
Theese hairs may be uniform all over the coat or separated from each other
by solid cloured hairs forming the different patterns.
In most breeds these solid coloured areas should be with out any ticked
hairs.
The ground colour of the areas between the pattern is
ticked with the corresponding colour(s).
Tortie
For Tortie Tabbies the tabby pattern is coloured in the colour of the
tortie patches and the tortie patches superimpose the tabby pattern.

On the appropriate base
colour is a 'dark' and clearly defined pattern with good contrast without
ticked hairs (brindling).
Marking in the shape of an "M" on the forehead, an unbroken line
runs back the outer corner of the eye, 2 or 3 spirals on the cheeks, thumb
prints on the ears, 2 unbroken necklaces on the chest.
Vertical lines over the back of the head extend to the shoulder markings,
shoulder markings area in the shape of a butterfly with both upper and
lower wings distinctly defined.
The back markings consist of a veridical line down the spine from the
butterfly to the tip of the tail. On each side of this line a "dark
line" runs in parallel. These 3 lines are clearly separated from each
other by the ground colour.
On each flank there are large blotches in the colour of the groundcolour
encircled by one or more unbroken "darker" lines. Markings
should be the same on each side.
A double row of "dark" spots (buttons) appears on the chest and
the stomach. The legs are evenly barred. The back of the feet is coloured
in the "dark" colour. The tail is evenly ringed and ends in a
solid tip.

colour.

Spotted - EMS

shown a clear pattern of numerous well defined round or oval "dark"
spots with good contrast without ticked hair (brindling)
The spots are clearly separated from each other and do not merge into each
other. The more numerous the better. On each cat the spots should be of
unifom shape; they are as important as the colour, however, they must
harmonize with the base colour.
There is an intricate tabby "M" an the forehead, with markings
extending up over the head between the ears and breaking into small spots
an the lover neck and shoulder.
Macara markings are found around the eyes and on the checks. The eyes are
rimmed with the darkest coat colour and surrounded by the lightest colour.
Thumprints on the ears.
There are one or two broken necklaces an the chest.
The spots should be spread on the shoulders and over the body down to the
legs.
A slight spine line is permitted.
The stomach is covered by clearly defined spots.
The legs are evenly ringed and/or spotted- The back of the feet is
coloured in the "dark" colour.
The tail is evenly ringed and ends in a solid tip.

free from any markings.
